Infrared Optics Lens, (IR) Right Angle Prisms are available in two substrate options. Germanium is a dense material with a high index (n10.6μm = 4.0034), making it ideal for applications from 3 - 12μm where the optical path length needs to be maximized.

The transmission range of Zinc Selenide ZnSe-CVD is 0.5 - 20 µm. ZnSe CVD used for high power CO2 laser optics at 10.6µm, for protective optics windows or optical elements in FLIR (forward looking infrared) thermal imaging equipment, optics for medical and industrial applications optical plane parallel windows (plates, disks, blanks), wedged windows,Wedge Prism, optical meniscus lens, Spherical Lens and Cylindrical Lens,ZnSe prisms, resonator mirrors of CO2 laser lens.The refractive index is near 2.4. Zinc Selenide has a very low absorbtion coefficient and is used extensively for high power infrared laser optic. It is non-hygroscopic.
Right Angle Prism (Rectangular Prism) used to bend image paths or redirect light at 90°. This produces a left handed image and depending on the orientation of the prism, the image may be inverted or reverted.
